Santa Clarita Valley SELPA asks for help informing families of available resources

Santa Clarita Valley special education and Local Plan Area asked the community for help in locating children and young adults with special educational needs to inform them of available resources.

Santa Clarita Valley special education and Local Plan Area (SCV SELPA) has requested assistance in informing guardians of eligible children and young adults living within the boundaries of the Santa Clarita Valley School District of special education programs that are available for qualified individuals , according to a press release from SELPA.

“The Santa Clarita Valley Local Special Education Plan Area and its member districts actively seek out all individuals with exceptional needs, from birth to 22 years of age, including infants and children placed by their parents in private schools,” reads a press release from SCV SELPA.

SELPA has encouraged parents, guardians and surrogate parents to seek out the services offered if they are concerned about their child’s development or suspect that their child may need special educationdue to a physical, mental, emotional, learning or speech problem.
